Why these rules exist

SA yellowtail kingfish minimum is 60 cm with a bag of just 1 (boat 3) — among the tightest kingfish limits in Australia. This supersedes the older 45–60 cm Spencer Gulf slot. A temporary 50% bag/boat reduction applies in the Gulf St Vincent / Kangaroo Island Fishing Zone until 30 June 2026.
