The surf beach and the rocky headlands produce tailor, whiting and dart, while the gutters in the surf zone are textbook tailor territory — especially on a new-moon night tide. The Carlo Point Boat Ramp gives access to the Wide Bay Bar and to the Tin Can Bay estuary system, which holds excellent flathead, bream and mangrove jack.
